“I ask anybody to listen to this song and not connect to it somehow”
— Jericho Keys (BBC introducing)
Bryony Drake was born in Leeds, Yorkshire UK, and she has spent her life so far as both a songwriter and a professional working musician.
Her earliest influences include her father, who she grew up watching perform in the pubs and clubs of Yorkshire. She soon fell in love with music and found a deep influence in the works of artists such as Bright Eyes, Leonard Cohen, and Janis Joplin. She began writing in her mid teens, and her first record ‘I Love You On The Tip Of My Tongue’ received national radio success with BBC Introducing and Radio 6. In the UK, she has performed in several premier venues including Leeds O2 academy, The Grand Opera House York, and York Barbican.
Aged 20, Bryony Drake moved over the the Canary Islands, Spain, where she began her career as a working musician. She performed nightly in the pubs and bars on the Puerto Del Carmen strip, before eventually beginning her career onboard cruise ships. Bryony now performs Internationally both on land and at sea, and has booked shows in various countries including Canada, USA, Turkey, Spain, and back home in the UK. Most recently, Bryony has created her 60’s inspired orchestra backed theatre show, which has been performed onboard several Celebrity Cruises ships.
Performing covers onboard cruise ships has been a blast. Doing this helped her to build up a stage presence she never knew possible! Performing shows every night helped to build her craftsmanship, refine her guitar skills, and develop her voice. Heavily inspired by the music of the 60’s, Bryony was writing her own songs too and was desperate to give them the time and attention they deserve. In late 2024 she made a decision - now it was time for HER music. So she packed up her guitar, and moved to Australia. She is now living in North Queensland, where she is writing and releasing her  music, and is about to drop her latest single ‘Singapore Sling.’ This will be the title track from her new album, which also includes ‘One Night In Miami’, ‘Driving You Mad’, and some new tunes that she hasn’t yet released!
